At this time, we are actively testing EndNote with the new Word for Mac 2016 Preview. Microsoft does not currently support third party add-ons in the Office 2016 Preview. Because of that, the EndNote tools will not.

Here the article will introduce two ways to help you insert the endnote quickly.

Use the familiar Word 2003 style in working with Word 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019 and 365 if you have Classic Menu for Word installed.

1. General EndNote discussion. Auto-suggest helps you quickly narrow down your search results by suggesting possible matches as you type.
2. If you plan to upgrade your Mac to macOS Catalina you will need to install EndNote X9 as EndNote X7 and X8 may no longer work once you upgrade. EndNote is a 32-bit application and Catalina will only support 64-bit applications. Clarivate is currently working to upgrade EndNote X9 to be 64-bit compatible.

Just take Microsoft Word 2010 for example, which is as well as in Word 2007/2013. With Classic Menu for Word 2007/2010/2013/2016/2019 installed, you can click Menus tab to get back the classic style interface.

• Move to Reference menu; click the down arrow next to it
• Choose Insert Endnote in the drop down menu
