The most convenient way to convert text documents saved in .pages files to Microsoft Word document (.doc, .docx) format would be to use any of the Pages apps for macOS (OS X) or iOS.
On Windows, a viable alternative would be to install the latest version of LibreOffice suite that apparently supports some versions of iWorks documents. This may not always be perfect, and some formatting may be lost during the conversion process.

A pages file extension is used for default document format of Pages, a word processor and page layout program from Apple. No other program can open the *.pages files, but Pages is able to export its documents to some other formats, such as PDF or Microsoft Word's *.docx.
